GET HEATED: See The Hangover (2009). Yes, you could watch a movie like The Mummy (1999 or 2017) for an Ancient Egyptian fix, but I prefer Todd Phillips’ buddy flick about a night gone horribly wrong in Vegas courtesy of memory- erasing illicit drugs and the hot hand fallacy. Pay special attention to this scene:
SID: “Sweetie, it’s Vegas. You lose track of time in casinos. There’s no windows, there’s no clocks. He’s probably on a heater. And you never walk away from the table when you’re on a heater.” TRACY: “You do if you’re getting married.” Relying on a hot hand can lead to unplanned tooth extractions, stolen police cars, and nude mobsters in your trunk. Metaphorically, of course.
