LET THE DOGS OUT: People acting irrationally to come out on top at all costs? Pilgrims versus Strangers? Investors versus the world? Neither. It’s the annual Mayflower Kennel Club Dog Show as depicted in the mockumentary Best in Show (2000). And if you thought the original passengers had geography issues, meet the play-by-play announcer for the show, Buck Laughlin: “Mayflower, combined with Philadelphia—a no-brainer, right? Cause this is where the Mayflower landed. Not so. It turns out Columbus actually set foot somewhere down in the West Indies. Little known fact.” During the next correction, feel free to tune in for a few laughs whenever needed.
