🎅🏻Synopsis: Once again, a jolly old elf gives investors the gift that keeps on giving. Believe it! ‘Twas the week after Christmas
Two-thousand and nineteen, The bears were seeing red The bulls counting up their green. 🎁 The stockings were emptied And the tree stripped bare, In hopes the recycling truck Soon would be there. 🎁 When out in the garage I heard such a din, I sprang from the couch and banged the table with my shin. 🎁 My curses and cries Rang out through the walls, As I opened the door and exclaimed “Well, deck my halls!” 🎁 For there in the cold gray garage And the fading wintery light, Stood that jolly old elf of yore, A most delightful, welcome sight. 🎁 ‘Midst the strings of lights and ornaments all bound up for the attic, He stroked at his beard and laughed Finding mirth at my look of panic. 🎁 Still dressed all in red and a bit more portly than last year, I forgot about my aching leg and invited him in for a beer. 🎁 He smiled and begged off “In truth, I’m in a hurry.... I just dropped in to check up on your investor’s wall of worry.” 🎁 “Santa,” I gushed, “you seem to have cured all, Not much remains of all those worries that I wrote about just this Fall! 🎁 Clients are all quite jolly pleased with 2019’s return!” Then he arched a snowy white eyebrow and sighed “When will you ever learn? 🎁 The past is but a memory The present fading fast, You must focus on tomorrow And know that nothing ever lasts! 🎁 There’s no sneak preview like George Bailey, or crystal ball for us to see, There is no ghost of Christmas future no one to show us what will be. 🎁 It’s the long term that matters, keep your clients on their path, That’s the gift that keeps on giving, and it doesn’t require advanced math.” 🎁 He backed away quick Said the last with a snicker, Then opened the garage door With a press of the clicker. 🎁 And out into the night The old elf he departed, A guru so wise... An advisor so big-hearted! 🎁 And I heard him exclaim As he sprung to his reindeer, Above the clanging of his sleigh bells “Don’t give in to your fears! 🎁 Markets will rise,” he exclaimed “And sometimes they will fall, That’s how it has ever been... A history lesson for us all.”
